Like an itchy sweater
That I don't want to take off
I remain here
Because without you
I might be exposed

Am I evolving
Or am I just afraid
To detach myself
From the void
That you pretend to fill

But I'm the one
Who walks around
Wearing sunglasses
When I'm indoors

The sun is brighter
When you see it
Through your own eyes
Though living in a tinted world
Keeps predictability near

And all my friends ask
Why I stay
But not even I understand
Why I don't understand

Every time we touch
It keeps me from wandering
To places that my spirit
Yearns to explore

But maybe I'm like a circle
That at some point
Will reconnect
With the me that I used to know
Before sharing myself
Meant giving it away

Yet I'm the architect
Of this place I've built
Where there are only walls
And no doors

But over there
I see an opening
If I explore it
Will it be just a view

Or a transport
To carry my soul
From one end
To the other
